Two people allegedly assaulted

A 29 year-old Deniliquin man has been charged with allegedly assaulting two people at a home in east Deniliquin on Saturday morning.

After reportedly refusing to leave the home of a 24 year-old woman and 23 year-old man, the 29 year-old allegedly punched the man in the face.

Police allege that a fight ensued. According to police, the woman attempted to break up the fight and was allegedly elbowed in the head by the older man.

Police also allege the woman was pushed into a glass door by the same man.

The older man is also alleged to have punched a fence when leaving the property.

The 29 year-old was arrested later that day and taken to Deniliquin Police Station. He will face the local court at a later date.


A 28 year-old Deniliquin man has been charged with alleged low-range drink driving.

Police stopped a car in Smart St, Deniliquin about 11.30pm on Friday, subjecting the driver to a roadside breath test.

A blood alcohol reading of 0.078 was allegedly recorded at the station.

The man is expected to face local court at a later date.
