Board members are responsible for driving the strategic direction and vision of Local Land Services, connecting the agency with landholders and communities to identify the issues and services needed.
Applications can be lodged via the Local Land Services website and close on Tuesday, August 30.
Local Land Services chair Allison Harker said there were 24 positions available and she hoped to see a wide range of candidates apply.
“We take great pride in working with people focused on the long-term sustainability of our natural resources and agricultural industries,” Ms Harker said.
“It’s important these boards reflect our wide-ranging customer base and the communities they serve, which is why I am encouraging people from all walks of life to apply.
“Strong local board representation is key to ensuring Local Land Services is in the best strategic position to help grow agricultural productivity and healthy environments.”
Local Land Services is made up of 11 regions, each with its own board of local community representatives.
They are a made up of a mix of ministerially appointed and elected board members who bring a wealth of skills, experience and commitment to the organisation.
Ms Harker said serving on a local board was a rewarding position.
“Becoming a board member connects you with some incredibly unique projects, from our new Aboriginal Ranger program, to building our strategic partnership with organisations like Landcare,” Ms Harker said.
