South downs Cherrybrook

South School forward Bobby Hall lays a strong tackle on his Cherrybrook opponent.

Deniliquin South Public School continued their strong showing in Aussie Rules football, winning their way to round four of the Tony Lockett Shield on Tuesday.

Playing at Memorial Park, the Southies 4.8 (32) defeated a visiting Cherrybrook Public School 0.3 (3) in an impressive display.

The Southies had four different goal kickers with Liam East, Deagan Purcell, Cooper King and Miller Fitzpatrick all hitting the scoreboard.

South school was best served by Cameron Wills, Tyson Willies, Will Croker, Logan Leiper, Jace Collins, Miller Fitzpatrick and Liam East.

The win sees the South School side move on to play Woy Woy Public School (date and venue to be confirmed).

South School principal Greg Danckert said he would like to thank the Deni Rovers for the use of their facilities and would also like to thank High School students Jack Richards, Cable Fitzpatrick, Kai Hillier and Brandon Armstrong for their excellent umpiring.
