Eagles soar to massive victory

The Agspares/Legal Eagles team had an impressive win (14 sets 131 games) over Mitre 10 who won only three sets and 60 games in the Deniliquin Lawn Tennis Club spring competition on Saturday.

To start off, the Agspares men won eight of eight men’s sets, with the ladies winning three of their five sets.

In the mixed sets Agspares dominated, claiming three of the four sets played.

It was an impressive performance by Agspares led by five men winning their three sets. They were Lachlan Campbell, Michael Williams, Harley Moore, Benjy Pisasale and Rich Larcombe.

In the ladies section Jenny Hogan and Allison Collins-Roe joined in, also winning their three sets.

This week Mitre 10 line up against Peppin Planners/TA Maher.

Taskers Battlers/Elders proved to be stronger than Peppin Planners/TA Maher recording a win of 11 sets and 116 games to six sets and 91 games.

Taskers had three three-set winners — Lorraine Tasker, Tessa Bulmer and Anthony Michael.

The ladder with four rounds remaining is as follows: Agspares/Legal Eagles 78, Taskers Battlers/Elders 59, Peppin Planners/TA Maher 46 and Mitre Ten 45.

Tennis courts are available for a mid week hit-up now that the National Croquet Championships are completed.
