Junior tennis round two results

February 20, 2018

The second round of play in the Deniliquin Lawn Tennis Club’s junior season was well contested and ran smoothly with thanks to all of the parent helpers, coaches and team captains on Saturday.

With the increase of family commitments over the next couple of weeks with events such as the Deniliquin Show, please ensure you plan early to find a sub if needed and speak to your team captain about any arrangements made.

This weekend Deni Physio has the bye in section one, and player three has the bye in section two.

Please confirm your availability with your captain.

Results from Saturday were:

Section 1: WFI (5/30) defeated Mayberry Jerseys (3/27) by three games.

Three set winners were Duncan Hughes and Will Croker.

Will Croker and Harry Dudley played a competitive tie-break game in their singles match with both players showing a great level of skill and determination.

Rob Rich Auto (4/24) defeated Deni Physio (2/21), also by a margin of only three games.

Sam Hughes was a three set winner. Sam Hughes and Jemma Smith played a fantastic tie-break game in their singles match.

Section 2: Milky Ways (4/16) defeated Deni Bakery (0/6). Two of the doubles matches had only one game between the teams. Henry Michael, Ben Dunmore, Ava Robinson and Sam Crossley were two set winners.

Thank you to our teams captains for their organisation of teams each week. Players please remember to thank your captains for the extra time they spend to help the competition run smoothly.
