The Deni Rams junior footballers flew the flag for the club with both the thirds and fourths victorious at Finley Apex Sports and Community Centre on Good Friday.
The fourths kicked off the day with a comprehensive 65 point win over the Cats to kick off their 2018 Murray League campaign.
The young Rams put forward an excellent display of pressure and tackling to lead from start to finish in the round one clash.
Kaileb Wilson was tremendous on debut being named Deni’s best with solid support from midfielders Charlie Hillier, Tom McCallum and Zac Free.
Tyson Willis and Luke Todd starred up forward with two goals each, with Tom Bradley also having a strong performance.
Noah Bradley played what was his best game for the club, using his pace for a dashing run down the wing to have the highlight of the day.
Final score, Deni Rams 10.14 (74) to Finley 1.3 (9).
The thirds also started their season on the right foot, dominating the Cats to record a 52 point victory.
The Rams led from the get go, with a consistent four quarter performance leading to the massive win against last year’s preliminary finalist.
Onballers John Bowie and Ryan MacDonald starred for the Rams, with Cooper Willoughby and Luke White also having strong performances.
Djaidha Miller had a tremendous showing up forward, booting four goals for the Rams, with Will Shaw (three goals) also a key player for Deni.
The Rams will have their first home game of the season when they host Rumbalara on Saturday.
