A slight shower on Saturday assisted in dousing a stubble fire caused by a lightning strike at Conargo.
Firefighters from the Conargo, Jerilderie, Wanganella and Mayrung brigades were called to the property 10km north of Conargo about 2.30pm.
Strong winds hindered firefighter efforts, and caused the fire to burn about 40ha of stubble.
Floating embers caused a number of spot fires on the property.
Firefighters were stood down about 6pm.
