Mathoura will be keen to rectify a slow start in the new-look Picola & District League season tomorrow.
It won’t come easy however with the Timbercutters going in as underdogs when they host finals contender Berrigan for the round three clash.
Mathoura is 0-2 for the season, having played arguably two of the toughest teams in the league to start the year.
A 138-point loss to reigning premier Picola United in round one was followed up by a 78-point loss at the hands of Strathmerton on Saturday.
This Saints are currently 1-1 after the first two rounds, fresh off a 23 point loss against a red-hot Deni Rovers side.
The Timbercutters will be looking for big games from defenders Che Taranto, Andrew Evans and Josh Flynn once again this week, with the trio cutting out countless attacks against the Dogs.
The onball brigade of Josh Williamson, Jack Hughes and Jesse Pridham are also in good form heading into the match.
Mathoura is already developing well under the tutelage of coaching duo Darcy Robinson and Jack Keogh, but will likely struggle again this week.
Selection: Berrigan by 50 points.
