Pam Boulton is the fourth person to be awarded a Life Membership from the Deniliquin Badminton Club.
Club vice president Steve O’Neill made the presentation at the club’s AGM last week.
Boulton joins Jeff Andrews, Michael Pisasale and Mike Boulton as a life member, saying she was quite surprised by the honour.
‘‘It’s such a lovely honour to receive,’’ she said.
‘‘I’ve been playing for over 40 years now and am very fortunate to still be able to play.
‘‘I’ve enjoyed badminton so much, it’s a very good sport.
‘‘I’d like to thank the club and the people I’ve played with over the years for making it such an enjoyable experience.’’
Boulton continues to be an enthusiastic and leading player who proves that badminton can be enjoyed by people of all ages.
‘‘A big plus is that we have a mix of ages playing badminton,’’ she said.
‘‘We’d like to see more people come out and join us, so I’d encourage anyone of any age to give it a try.’’
Badminton holds three competitions throughout the year — winter, spring and summer competitions.
The spring and summer competition are played over 10 weeks, followed by three weeks of finals, with the winter competition played over five weeks with one final.
Games are played every Monday night at the Deniliquin Stadium.
The summer competition is currently in its first week of finals.
If you would like to get involved with the next competition you can find out more at the Deniliquin Stadium at 7pm on Monday night.
