Rams A grade too classy for Kats

The Deni Rams A grade enjoyed a convincing 38-goal victory against Murray League newcomers Katandra on Sunday.

In an outstanding team performance the Rams had winners all over the court, totally dominating the match from the opening whistle.

Defenders Eliza Eastman and Ella Park applied relentless pressure on the Katandra shooters creating many turnovers, while at the opposite end Bec White and Leah Blake were in total control of the goal ring.

The Rams midcourt was superb all game with Amelia Seignior, Eleisha Bartlett and Hayley Hall in great touch to return their best four quarter performance for the season.

Final score, Deni Rams 70 to Katandra 32.

An excellent four-quarter team effort saw the B grade Rams remain unbeaten and on top of the ladder.

Kate McCalman had her best game this year with excellent court movement and accurate goaling. Her defensive pressure was second to none combining well with Frieda O’Sullivan who also created many turnovers.

In attack Lucy Simpson had a stellar game as centre, proving her versatility.

Final score, Deni Rams 61 to Katandra 26.

Despite missing a couple of players, the Rams’ C grade girls continued their winning ways against Katandra.

The change to Deni’s bye round saw their two defenders being away meaning the Rams looked to juniors Emma McCallum and Rachael Hare, with both girls playing an outstanding game.

The Rams worked hard and took the first half of the first quarter to settle into the changes.

There were some beautiful passages of play with the Deni girls taking on the previous week’s instructions and playing some top netball.

Final score, Deni Rams 63 to Katandra 32.

In another tightly contested game, the Deni C reserve side’s fitness and pressure over the ball allowed them to prevail.

Hayley Free and Emma O’Callaghan combined beautifully to create turnovers.

Alanna Raper provided strong drives out of defence and controlled the delivery of the ball into the ring.

Final score, Deni Rams 45 to Katandra 42.

A close game of netball for the Under 17s against Katandra, with the home side prevailing over the Rams.

With four regular players missing due to other commitments, Deni had some difficulty settling into the game and Katandra’s attack was accurate when they had their chance to convert goals.

The game saw Katandra work their way to the front and use every opportunity to make Deni pay for any mistakes.

The last quarter saw Katandra settle into some great passages of play with Deni unable to shut them down.

For Deni, Rachel Hare played a solid game in defence and Lilli Free played consistently through the centre.

Final score, Katandra 33 to Deni Rams 26.

A new look Under 15s Rams team took to the court and were dominant against Katandra.

Bridie Blake, Sam Hughes and Gracie Willis rotated through the goal circle combining well and shooting accurately all game.

Rachel Crockart, Storm Barlow and Macie Free provided great drive through the midcourt applying pressure and creating space.

Hannah Ford, Steph Maher and Grace McCallum stood strong in defence positioning well for the rebound and creating numerous turnovers.

Final score, Deni Rams 32 to Katandra 8.

Awards: Bridie Blake and Sam Hughes.

A fantastic defensive game by all players saw the Rams leave with a 33 goal win in U13s action.

The Rams created multiple turnovers they were able to capitalise on.

Ellie Caruso and Holly Amor stood tall and strong in GD and GK and got many deflections, while Phoebe Jefferies converted in goals.

Final score, Deni Rams 44 to Katandra 11.

The Rams U11s claimed a 16 goal victory over Katandra.

The Deni girls defended really well, making many intercepts in the midcourt to turn the ball over.

Abbi Jefferies played her first game, positioning well and shooting some great goals.

Final score, Deni Rams 19 to Katandra 3.
