Marg’s rare two for one

by
June 02, 2018

Fifteen players lined up for croquet on Sunday.

Marg Telford won the shot of the day with a terrific shot. Her ball was sitting in the hoop ready and Marg not only hit it through but sent it right down the court and through the next hoop gaining two hoops with the one shot in a rare achievement.

Two players won their three games. Allan Tonta won the day with 23 hoops and Andy Davis had 21.

Two game winners were Dot Murphy with a good score of 25 despite losing one game and Dora Wilson and Carol Borella each scored 20 hoops.

Andy Davis had two successful jump shots and Megan Tonta had one.

On Wednesday 12 players braved the cold for a great game of croquet.

Dot Murphy was the only three game winner and won the day with a good score of 27.

There were two game winners with Dors Peterson and Marg Telford both scoring 22 hoops.

Colin Campbell ran a very handy hoop-in-one.

Players are reminded that the Martha Challen Cup competition will begin on Sunday June 11. It will be played on the second Sunday of each month and everyone is encouraged to take part.

Hopefully there will be a practice game before that date.

New players are always welcome and times are Sundays 12.30 for 1pm and Wednesdays 9 for 9.30am.
