Cobram’s Marita O’Kane was unlucky not to ‘double-up’ after being drawn as this week’s Harvey Norman ‘Local Footballer of the Week’ voucher winner.
Marita selected Rovers’ onballer James Gilligan as her Footballer of the Week, after he polled the maximum three votes two weeks in a row.
Unfortunately Gilligan missed out on votes this week, with Marita claiming a $100 Harvey Norman voucher.
‘‘I picked James because he’s been in great form,’’ Marita said.
‘‘He’s also one of two footballers from Deniliquin I know as I’ve known his father for a long time.
‘‘The only other player in Deni I know is Matt Horne, because he’s my son-in-law.
‘‘This competition is a fantastic idea and I’m so excited that I was lucky enough to be drawn as a winner.’’
You too can win a Harvey Norman voucher by picking a ‘Local Footballer of the Week’ from either the Deni Rovers, Deni Rams, Blighty or Mathoura.
If your entry is the first one drawn you win a $100 Harvey Norman Deniliquin voucher, and if your player is awarded the best on ground ‘3’ vote for their respective club that weekend, your prize is doubled.
Entries must be original copies from the Pastoral Times and must be submitted into the entry box at Harvey Norman before 1pm every Saturday.
All senior footballers from Deni Rams, Deni Rovers, Blighty and Mathoura are eligible, with the footballer with the highest number of votes at the end of the season receiving a $1000 gift voucher from Harvey Norman.
Votes from last Saturday: Deni Rovers (round eight): 3 votes A. Bodey, 2 votes D. Smith, 1 vote R. Waters; Mathoura: 3 votes J. Flynn, 2 votes T. Beasy, 1 vote J. Keogh; Deni Rams and Blighty both had the bye.
