Deniliquin renal unit patient Brian Cockayne and renal nurse unit manager Alana Tilders accept the new crash cart and defibrillator donation from Deniliquin Hospital fundraising committee president Graeme Butcher and hospital administration manager Jamie Counsell.

Money raised by this year’s Murray to Moyne team has been used to purchase a defibrillator and crash cart for Deniliquin’s new renal dialysis unit.

On hand to accept the donation last week was the renal unit nurse manager Alana Tilders and local renal patient Brian Cockayne.

‘‘The Deniliquin Hospital is extremely grateful for the efforts of the Murray to Moyne team and their fundraising endeavours, which has allowed valuable equipment to be purchased for the hospital over the years,’’ Mrs Tilders said.

‘‘The Deniliquin Renal Unit has been the beneficiary this year and we are extremely thankful for the team for providing this equipment.’’

The local 2018 Murray to Moyne team raised $11,545 for Deniliquin Hospital as part of the annual cycle relay event, which was held on April 7 and 8.

Fourteen Deniliquin cyclists worked in tandem to complete the 537km journey from Echuca to Port Fairy.
