Members gathered at Cobram Bowling Club on Saturday for a presentation dinner to celebrate its achievements for the 2018-19 season.
After acknowledging the three winning pennant teams, president Ray Parks presented the individual and team championship trophies, including the inaugural open singles which was contested by men and women.
21-up: Joy Mynard, David Quinane; 100-up: Jenny Warfe, Ron Dougherty; women’s triples: Marj McDonald, Val Quinane and Carol Mathers; men’s triples: Chris Thomas, Colin McDonald and John Taylor; women’s pairs: Kerry Baldacchino and Glenys Walker; men’s pairs: Wayne Nelson and Mark Baldwin; mixed pairs: Greg Dunn, Christine Dunne; men’s B-grade singles: Mark Baldwin; open singles: Ron Dougherty; women’s club champion: Kerry Baldacchino; men’s club champion: Steve Tatnall.
Kerry Baldacchino and Glenys Walker went on to win the Murray Bowls Division Champion of Champions Pairs crown, receiving the trophy on Sunday.In other news, 28 bowlers enjoyed magnificent conditions (weather and greens) on Saturday for winter triples.
Winners on the day were John Anders, Barry Turner and Brian Doherty, ahead of runners-up Andrew Rushby, Fred Pinnuck and Brian Doyle.
All bowlers are welcome to join in this mufti competition. Single entries to the club by 11.30am each Saturday for a 12.30pm start.
