Burgers with the lot, egg and bacon sandwiches and ‘snags’ in bread are some of the menu items which have been cooked by the Corowa Girl Guides and Corowa Hockey Club at monthly Federation markets for some years.
Funds raised by both organisations have been of great value and reduced the need for other, more time consuming, fundraising options.
But the Hockey Club has changed plans so Corowa Guides are looking for another local organisation to help out.
The well-known BBQ trailer is shared and the groups usually alternate months on a roster system.
“The Guides love the opportunity to be out in the public, meeting people and being part of the community,” Corowa Guide Leader Maryann Herbet said.
“Although we have Guide units in three age groups, our parent body would not be able to supply the number of adults needed to take on the commitment alone.
“The takings vary each month but our parent support group is happy that they don’t need to organise other fundraising to pay the district’s expenses.
“The BBQs and our Guide biscuits are our main sources of income.”
