Faye hosts trivia to help our farmers

By Deniliquin Pastoral Times

A fundraising event to help out farming families in the community is adding some fun to the task.

A trivia night will be held at Deniliquin Golf Club on Saturday, December 8, in support of the ‘Buy a Bale’ campaign.

On the night you can expect classic trivia questions, table games, challenges and a silent auction of goods and services, vouchers and cash donated from local businesses.

Trivia night team leader Faye Croft asks locals to give the cause a helping hand.

‘‘We are still looking for more prizes to hand out to winners on the night and are also looking for more auction items, so if anyone is interested in helping it’s not too late.

‘‘It’s all about having some fun with your friends and family; just some gentle competition and to have everyone enjoy themselves while helping out a good cause,’’ she said.

‘‘We are also collecting non perishable food items for the lead up to Christmas to accompany our donation from the proceeds of the event. Soul Pattinson Pharmacy has a collection bin in its store, or people are encouraged to bring an item when they arrive on the night.’’

It’s bring your own supper and the bar will be open throughout the event.

Tickets are going quick so get your tickets organised - $15 pre-sale and $20 for tickets purchased at the door. If you have a team please book a table.

‘Buy a Bale’ is part of the charity Rural Aid, designed to bolster rural communities not only suffering through the current drought, but those families that need help remaining in existence.
