Jan Gray was the inspiration behind a Biggest Morning Tea hosted by the Deniliquin Community Mental Health Drug and Alcohol Service team last week.
It was organised by her granddaughter Christie Hebbard, who is a family and carer support worker.
‘‘My nan has leukaemia. She battles on, doesn’t ask for help and always keeps doing her everyday things,’’ Christie said.
‘‘I wanted to raise this money for Deniliquin CanAssist as they do an amazing job and help a lot of local families.’’
About 22 people attended the event at the organisation’s Cressy St offices on Thursday morning, raising $133.
