The $676,620 playground, will be opened by the Parliamentary Secretary to the Deputy Premier, Steph Cooke MP.
‘‘I’m looking forward to joining the Deniliquin community to celebrate the official opening of the new and improved Scott’s Park and to seeing local children and families enjoying the exciting range of play equipment that has been delivered through this project,’’ Ms Cooke said.
Edward River Council Mayor Norm Brennan said he hoped to see a strong turnout at the official opening, which starts at 10am.
‘‘The playground has been consistently well utilised since it was completed in late May, and we’ve received very positive feedback from the community, particularly from users of the playground and adjoining BMX pump track,’’ Cr Brennan said.
‘‘There’s still some work to be done, including installing a swing and constructing a mural on the water tower, but the precinct looks fantastic and we are very proud of the upgrades.
‘‘It’s great to see so many people visiting and using Scott’s Park again, and I look forward to seeing plenty of families and children attending the official opening,’’ he said.
The project was funded by the NSW Government through the Stronger Country Communities Fund, and the work was delivered by local contractor, B Green Constructions Pty Ltd.
