FEDERAL Member for Murray Damian Drum will host federal agriculture minister David Littleproud and special envoy for drought assistance Barnaby Joyce on a tour of the region on March 18 and 19.
The ‘‘drought impact and agriculture road show’’ will travel from Seymour up through Mr Drum’s electorate to Echuca, where the trio of National Party MPs will meet constituents.
Mr Drum will also host a summit in Mooroopna, with affected farmers and industries invited to attend.
‘‘Many constituents in the farming and agriculture industries are hurting at the moment. In regions like ours, tough times in these industries have a significant flow-on effect in the local economy,’’ Mr Drum said.
‘‘Being able to give members of these industries direct access to the minister for agriculture and water resources and the drought envoy will allow them to highlight the issues in our region, and to explain how they think the government can best help the current situation.’’
The Drought Impact Summit will be hosted by Valley Pack Pty Ltd in Mooroopna at 9.30am on March 19, where Mr Littleproud, Mr Joyce, and Mr Drum will be directly accessible to members of the affected industries.
