Triathlon season’s cool start

By Deniliquin Pastoral Times

Deniliquin Triathlon Club started their season in cool conditions on Wednesday night.

This didn’t deter the more seasoned swimmers like Elena Mulham, Brenda Norman and Josh Perizzolo all completing the longer swim in good time.

New member James Seymour will be one to watch as the season progresses putting in a solid performance in all three legs.

It was great to see Trevor Butcher back among the regulars whose ages range from six to 60.

The club welcomes all ages and abilities and offers a try before you buy policy of two free evenings before paying only $20 for the season.

Membership also includes a monthly barbecue dinner.

Training is held on a Wednesday night at 5.45pm and participants can choose to do all three legs or mix and match.

The club is fortunate to have a beautiful course on which to train with the swim leg in the Edward River, downstream with the current, the bike leg on the streets of Deniliquin and the run along the walking path next to the river.
