Ryan was awarded with the First Principal’s Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement (Dux) at the school’s presentation day at the Deniliquin RSL Club on Friday, December 14.
The young cricket star also earned a ‘Greens’ award for representing Riverina in the state championships, as well as the NSW Premiers Sporting Challenge Medal for fair play.
The award ceremony kicked off with the students singing the South School song ‘Green and Gold’ before the presentation of School Medallions.
Medallions were awarded to Eliza Atley, Leasha Bartlett, Abbie Blake, Lily Cameron, Phoebe Jefferies, Saskia Malin, Erika Martin, Jasmyn McKenzie, Emma Parks, Grayce Pratt, Phoebe Selleck, Paige Wall and Cormac Witty.
This was followed by the presentation of sporting awards and the announcement of house captains for 2019, before a ukulele performance from the 3/4 Diamonds and 4 Boomers classes.
The 2019 Cabinet Members were inducted following the presentation of awards, with the day closed out by a Year 6 performance and the national anthem.
