The loss saw Mathoura knocked out of finals contention, with their season coming to a close when they host ladder leader Moama tomorrow.
In Division Two Mathoura took on Lockington at Lockington with the match ending in a 66-all tie.
In Division Four, Mathoura took on Rich River at Rich River and went down by 30 shots, 57 to 87.
Division five saw Mathoura take on Rich River at Mathoura and come out with an emphatic 64 to 27 victory.
Ladder positions for Mathoura are as follows. Division One, sixth; Division Two, third; Division Four, second; Division Five, fifth.
The club championships mixed pairs saw Cec and Joan Moss defeat J Chalmers and L Bates in the final.
In the men’s 100-up handicap P Wilson defeated T O’Callaghan and S Limbrick defeated M Beeche.
In the men’s pairs I Hunter and R Werner defeated J and A Hulm.
In the 21-up B grade men’s singles T Starkey defeated C Hillier, P Clear defeated J Dean, S O’Callaghan defeated P Wilson, T O’Callaghan defeated J Toomey, G Lumsden defeated D Guthridge and M Beeche defeated A Prime.
Unfortunately Mathoura’s midweek pennant Division One side was knocked out of finals, going down to Deniliquin Bowling Club by three shots.
The club deserves congratulations on a strong team performance in their first year of playing in Division One.
