The second round of Wednesday night competition resulted in two close matches.

In the first match Mitre 10 14 sets 116 games defeated Agspares 11 sets 115 games.

There were a number of three set winners for Mitre 10 including Nick Metcalfe, Naomi Ritchie, Sarah Metcalfe, Vicki Arentz and Aimee Liefting while for the losers the real estate agents James Sides and Hamish Thomson prevailed with three sets.

The other match with an identical scoreline saw Peppin Planners 14 sets and 116 games defeat Legal Eagles 11 sets and 115 games.

Three set winners for Peppin Planners included Rich Larcombe and Henry Osborne, while for the losers after a hiatus of 30 years Debbie Small returned with a vengeance winning three sets.

Andrew Ritchie in a “tussle of the tummies” was too strong for Lach Campbell winning three sets.

There were a number of family battles on the night with Isabel Dudley prevailing over her mother as did Henry Osborne over his father.

It is worth mentioning that when playing parents, most of you do live “rent free”.

In a thriller Tom Wettenhalll and Harley Moore prevailed over Rob Wettenhall and Anthony Michael coming from 4-0 down in a tiebreaker to win 5-4.
