Spirited Seth farewelled

A charismatic young boy, Seth James Haddow is being remembered for his bright spirit and cheeky personality.

Jayde Gardner and Brendon Haddow have paid tribute to their son, who died last month after he was struck by a vehicle outside a Tatura home in a tragic accident.

Born on June 20, 2017, Seth was just 19 months old.

The much-loved Seth was an adored son and cherished brother to Miah, 7, Layton, 5, and Patrick, six months.

Ms Gardner described her son as a charismatic and easy-going young boy, with piercing blue eyes and bright blonde locks.

‘‘Seth always had a strut on him, everywhere he walked he would tilt his head and give the cheekiest little grin, he also loved to dance and sing,’’ she said.

‘‘He made everyone around him laugh, he loved to play with his brothers and sister... he loved bathtime, swimming and going for walks with Mum.’’

Following his death, family and friends took to Facebook to share their love for the young boy who was taken too soon.

Ms Gardner’s sister, Jayme Monique Gardner, set up a GoFundMe page for her nephew, asking community members to dig deep and support the young family through their heartbreak.

‘‘I know that no amount of money will ever take away their pain or bring their baby back ... the last thing they need to be worrying about is how they will pay for bub’s funeral or how they will get through this tragic time,’’ she wrote.

‘‘I just want to help in any way we can, any donations to help them through this horrific time will be greatly appreciated, as you can understand they are both heartbroken, they’re grieving, they’re in shock and they just need their space at this time.’’

Since it was established eight days ago, more than 200 people have rallied together to raise $15000 for the family.

The post has received hundreds of comments from family members, friends, locals and even strangers, all sharing their love and support for the grieving family.

‘‘You don’t know myself or my family and no doubt never will, but I was completely shattered by your story, it is such a tragedy. We are fortunate enough to have three little ones and I cannot possibly imagine what you are going through. I hope as a family, with the support of other friends and family you are able to work through this terrible situation you are so unfortunate to be in,’’ someone wrote.

Ms Gardner said she was completely overwhelmed by the support they had received online, thanking everyone for their donations and kind words.

‘‘We were very shocked when we saw that, we were very overwhelmed with the response,’’ she said.

‘‘We’re very grateful and thankful for everyone that’s donated for it.’’

Seth was farewelled at a funeral in Shepparton last Monday, with hundreds of people attending to say goodbye.

Guests were asked to wear white or blue to pay tribute to his ‘‘big blue eyes and curly blonde hair’’.

While Seth’s death has left a hole in his family, Ms Gardner said they would continue to cherish the memories they shared of him.

‘‘We will remember Seth as our little blue-eyed baby with the funniest personality and his little cool dude strut,’’ she said.

‘‘On behalf of Brendon and myself we would like to thank everyone who has donated to the GoFundMe page and are forever grateful for all the support.’’
