Jerilderie Lions is in the process of purchasing a building, formerly Jerilderie Traders, in the main street for development.
The project is to encourage tourism and local arts, crafts and produce.
Lions members are putting the project out to all surrounding towns for the chance to have businesses and clubs come to Jerilderie to see their proposal.
The plan is to display and sell locally grown produce from within a 100km radius.
There is also a chance for rental space to be available for various interested persons or businesses.
Lions club also plan to use the space for local arts and crafts, paintings and drawings.
The proposed area will also offer space for workshops to be conducted by various talented people.
The site will house and display the brilliant canvas painting, ‘Coming Together’, 8m long x 4m high, by the Elsie Black/Hawkins family, currently being displayed in Jerilderie council chambers.
The club is applying for a grant of up to $150,000 to get their project up and running.
Investors, shareholders, supporters who join in this Jerilderie Lions Club project will see action on the site, which has the potential to further enhance tourism for the region.
