Sixth annual Poetry night

Students performing poetry Wednesday last week represented Deniliquin South, Deniliquin North, Edward School and St Michael's School.

They used the head-fitted microphones purchased by the group recently, and Bush Poets members said they performed bush poetry items with great aplomb to an appreciative full house at Intereach Neighborhood Centre.

Each child received a certificate of appreciation and a beautiful timber hand-crafted biro, made by former Deniliquin man David Kerslake.

For several weeks prior to the poetry evening the students were coached and encouraged by Alex Allitt and David Schoeffel.

A delicious supper concluded the evening's entertainment.
