After having their son and daughter both attend the hospital to be treated, Blighty locals Jayne Wilkins and Michael Norman are committed to contributing everything they can to help the hospital.
The event will be held at The Long Table cafe on Sunday, October 20 from 2.30pm.
“It’s the least we can do to contribute to the hospital for everything they’ve done,” Ms Wilkins said.
“The fact is the hospital saves so many children.
‘‘Even in difficult times of drought the community is so generous, and we’re sure this will again be the case with our fundraiser,’’ she said.
The couple are setting their target high for the High Tea, hoping to raise more than $4500. Their overall goal is to raise $10,000 for the Good Friday Appeal.
“Even though it may not be a huge sum for the hospital compared to other big organisations, I believe every dollar counts,” Ms Wilkins said.
“I am sure they are extremely grateful for the contributions we have made so far.”
Ms Wilkins said they had received a lot of help putting together their High Team, with The Long Table cafe contributing their space and help.
“Everyone has been so generous so far and the event is really coming together; it looks like it will be a great community event,” Ms Wilkins added.
“These events are so important not only to raise funds but to bring the community together, to have a great time and enjoy each other’s company.”
For catering purposes tickets will only be available for pre-sale at $50 per person.
