Children aged eight to 12 will have the opportunity to work with felt, embroidery and participate in wool craft - all activities not often taught these days.
Boobook CWA president Lyn Rose said the workshops will help provide valuable life-skills for younger generations, and hopes each can learn something new.
“We just want to try and pass on the knowledge we have accumulated over the years, and show them crafts that we also enjoyed when we were kids,” she said.
“It gives them the opportunity to work with their hands and to keep these classic activities alive, passing them down the generations.
“Maybe one day, they will teach the next generation how to embroider, sew and all of those things that aren't really taught in school anymore.”
With kids already counting down to Christmas - 81 days to go - the association has chosen a Christmas theme for the craft session, Christmas stockings and tree decorations were made last year.
“It is a fun way to learn and they can use their crafts as gifts or use them themselves in the upcoming holiday season,” Mrs Rose said.
“The whole idea of the workshop is to have fun and enjoy yourself so hopefully they will take what they have learnt home and keep creating for the enjoyment of it.
“They might even want to go on to bigger and better things, refining their skills and continuing to create, maybe even entering them into the Deni Show.”
The workshop will be hosted at the CWA rooms in Harrison St, Deniliquin on Wednesday, October 9.
The first session is from 9.30am until 12.30pm and the second at 1.30pm until 4.30pm.
It is $10 per child (aged between eight and 12) and includes morning tea and afternoon tea.
