The couple was given 2018 tickets as a belated wedding present, so they could see for themselves why the event was such a shame to miss.
It was enough to get Sarah and Reid hooked, and they arrived in Deniliquin from Queensland on Wednesday ahead of their second Muster.
And now they plan to come back every year.
‘‘We’ll make it our wedding anniversary every year,’’ Reid said.
‘‘Sarah and I both wanted to come to the muster for about 10 years, but we could never make it work.
‘‘After missing the event because of our wedding, our friends all chipped in and bought us tickets for 2018.
‘‘We really enjoyed the atmosphere, and seeing a whole heap of country people all in one place.
‘‘But definitely Tim McGraw headlining this year was a reason we wanted to come back.
‘‘It will be a good weekend.’’
The Breezes drove from Jimboomba in Queensland and met their friends and family in Deniliquin, or more like Mathoura where they were camped out until the camping grounds gates were opened yesterday.
‘‘We plan to stay Sunday night and then we’ll head home Monday,’’ Reid said.
‘‘It is a long way to travel, but it is worth the drive.’’
At least 20,000 people are expected to be at the Deniliquin Ute Muster this weekend, including a larger number of international visitors than in previous years.
