Police allege the man became violent during a verbal argument with a woman about 8.25pm.
He allegedly grabbed the woman, his partner, but the throat and pushed her up against a wall.
The woman reportedly told police she was also kicked, punched in the stomach, had her hair pulled and was pushed into the floor in front of her children.
When the woman tries to flee, she was allegedly dragged out of the car and pushed up against a fence.
The woman was able to escape to a neighbour's house and police were called.
Police received information that the man had returned to the residence at 12.25am on October 17 and attended the address, arresting and charging the man.
Trespass fines issued
Trespassers were reportedly found inside a Napier St home in Deniliquin about 1pm Wednesday.
The owner of the unoccupied home was checking on the property, especially after a recent break-in during which the lock to the home was damaged.
The two people inside, a male and a female, were ordered to leave.
Police said both were issued with on the spot fines for trespassing.
Hit and run
Police are investigating an alleged hit and run incident that occurred in Deniliquin about 8pm on Monday.
A car backing out of a Mackenzie St driveway reportedly collided with a parked vehicle.
The driver of the reversing car is alleged to have left the scene without inspecting the damage or leaving details.
