The 63 year-old woman from Wodonga was towing a caravan when she is reported to have lost control of the ute on a shoulder about 1.30pm.
The ute rolled trapping her and a 66 year-old female passenger inside.
Deniliquin Police, Deniliquin NSW Fire and Rescue, the Rural Fire Service and Ambulance paramedics all responded, and were able to free the passenger about 3pm.
It took another 45 minutes for the driver to be freed.
The passenger was taken to Deniliquin Hospital and released Saturday morning with no serious injuries.
A dog that had been in the vehicle is believed to be unharmed and is being cared for by a Deniliquin resident.
Inquiries into the crash are continuing.

A number of firearms have been seized from a Mathoura property.
Police said the owner had previously lived in Victoria, and did not apply for a NSW firearms licence after relocating interstate.
The guns were taken from the property about 6pm Saturday.
Police say investigations could potentially result in further charges.

A driver who allegedly failed to give way to a police car was found to be wanted on outstanding warrants.
Police said they followed and stopped a car being driven by a 20 year-old Victorian man when it reportedly failed to give way at the Crispe and Harfleur St intersection in Deniliquin about 7.30pm Saturday.
The man was remanded in custody and transferred to Albury.
He was fined for failing to give way, and police said investigations are continuing regarding the status of his licence.

A 42 year-old Deniliquin man has been issued with a field court attendance notice after allegedly being found in possession of cannabis.
Police stopped the car the man was driving in Burton St, Deniliquin about 10.30pm Thursday.
Initially fined for not wearing a seat belt, police allege to have found the small amount of cannabis in the man's pocket during a subsequent search.
