Those participating will learn about seven service men buried in the Deniliquin General Cemetery this Sunday.
This includes World War I soldier Alfred Robert Bailey and World War II soldiers Albert Valentine Bennett, prisoner of war Kenneth James Grimison, Reginald Harold Jackson, Vincent Patrick Maher, Thomas Ernest Newell and Graham Cronin Taylor.
Those wishing to take the guided walk are asked to be at the cemetery by 1.30pm on Sunday, for a 2pm start.
The walk is expected to finish about 3pm, and will be followed by an afternoon tea available for a donation.
Booklets can be purchased for $5.
Deniliquin Genealogy Society president Val Hardman said the walk is a way to pay tribute to those who served.
She said one more soldier could be added to the commemoration list before the event.
‘‘Come along bring a friend and remember those who bravely fought for our country,’’ she said.
‘‘We normally commemorate eight soldiers on our walks, so have room for one more if anyone would like a particular soldier remembered.
‘‘We would require a story to include in our booklet.’’
Mrs Hardman said while the event is a cemetery walk, the tour is also available to those who are less mobile.
‘‘It is possible to drive around the cemetery to access the graves of men that are included in the walk,’’ she said.
