He is then alleged to have thrust the knife at a man sitting in the driver’s seat of a car, hitting and scratching the window.

Both men — aged 21 and 22 — left in the car and went straight to Deniliquin Police Station.

When police arrived they were able to seize a knife, and a man was arrested and charged with two counts of armed with intent to commit and indictable offence.  He was also charged with malicious damage for the damage to the car.

The man has been remanded in custody since Sunday, and is expected to appear in court via video link today.

Police confirmed the 21 year-old is also a resident at the units.
