The school and its P&C committee will host a mini fete in the school grounds in west Deniliquin from 3pm to 5pm.
P&C committee member Felicity Michael said the activities have been organised ‘‘by the kids, for the kids’’ and it will be a lovely family event.
‘‘We host our fete every two years, and this year we decided to hold a mini fete instead of the traditional Saturday event,’’ Mrs Michael said.
‘‘Through the leadership program at the school, the Year 5 and 6 students have been helping to organise the fete and will run the stalls.
‘‘There’s also been a collaborative effort from parents, who have been providing items for the stalls.
‘‘We’ll have a range of traditional fete activities, like the chook wheel, barbecue, raffle, face painting, animal nursery and chocolate throw.’’
Mrs Michael said the weather is predicted to be a ‘‘nice’’ 26 degrees, and that all activities will be affordable.
‘‘Everything is a gold coin donation, so you could come with $10 and still have a great afternoon,’’ she said.
‘‘This is also an opportunity for us to make use of our new covered outdoor learning area.’’
Mrs Michael said all proceeds form the fete would fund school programs, with the provision of interactive screens a priority for the P&C.
‘‘We have some of these screens, but we want to make them available in all classrooms,’’ she said.
