Locals compete against Vic’s best

The annual Deni Wake Muster and Wakeboard Victoria Championships drew a huge crowd and plenty of competitors at the weekend.

On Friday and Saturday, a record-breaking 75 wakeboarders showed off their skills on the Edward River, competing in round four of the championships.

The weekend saw four local competitors take to the wake — juniors Ethan Connolly and Jordan Stafford, and seniors Sam Singleton and Riley Arnold.

Results for finals in each category were as follows:

Rookie male: Jesse Power 77.78, 1; Noah Piastri 72.22, 2; Rylan Stephens 64.45, 3; Jack Messina 53.34, 4; Brodie Daniel-Williamson 33.33, 5; Ethan Connolly 26.67, 6.
