From 10am until midday on Tuesday, March 24, the group will offer an opportunity to take part in mini workshops before considering becoming a member.
President Di Stubbings said men and women of all ages are welcome to join any of the group’s workshops and craft days, and is looking forward to seeing new faces at the open day.
“It’s Deniliquilters and Friends so we don’t just do quilting, we do knitting, crocheting, embroidery, sewing, patchwork and we are always open to any new ideas,” Mrs Stubbings said.
“Deniliquilters and Friends offers a great social setting to conduct your craft hobbies and is a supportive environment where you can learn, teach and observe.”
They meet every Tuesday from 10am until 3pm to work on individual projects in each other’s company as well as at ‘Sit and Sew’ days on a Saturday a couple of times a year.
On the fourth Tuesday of every month, the group conducts a workshop which Mrs Stubbings said is directed by members who choose what skills they want to share.
“On Tuesday we made stuffed Christmas trees which was a fun and interesting experience,” she said.
“These workshops are an opportunity to learn tricks of the trade and to create something you might not have thought to try.
“It is also an opportunity to pass on knowledge and help people’s skills grow.
“So come along and see if Deniliquilters and Friends is your cup of tea.”
