The school’s Parents & Friends committee has introduced a new Big Ball Drop for the 11th annual event.
The 500 balls, which are sold individually, will be dropped from height on to the Deniliquin Golf Club’s putting practice green using a cherry picker.
The ball which lands closest the hole earns its owner the $2000. The second closest ball is worth $400 and third is $100.
Balls are being sold for $10 each.
Event organiser Shannon Bulmer said the ball drop will add more excitement to the already action packed day.
‘‘We were trying to think outside the box and create more interest in the Holey Hit Out,’’ she said.
‘‘We need to sell all 500 balls for it to work and while we have sold a fair few already, we’d like to sell most if not all before the day.’’
The popular four-person ambrose begins with a shotgun start at noon and will also include a barbecue lunch and drinks available to buy on course.
A raffle will be drawn at the end of the day with more prizes to be won throughout the day.
To register a team, fill out the entry form available at the Golf Club. You should register as soon as possible to avoid missing out.
Forms can be returned to the golf club, along with the $25 fee per player.
The barbecue is included on the cost of entry, and a mobile drinks cart will be on course. The event is strictly no BYO.
