Muster general manager Vicky Lowry said ticket numbers jumped in the days following the June 5 announcement, although it was understandably not as ‘record breaking’ as previous years.
The all Aussie showcase will include The Angels, John Williamson, Shannon Noll, Busby Marou, The McClymonts, McAlister Kemp, Sara Storer, Shane Nicholson, Felicity Urquhart, Hurricane Fall and Darlinghurst.
‘‘Ticket sales are not where they would normally be after an artist announcement, but that is to be expected in this climate,’’ Mrs Lowry said.
‘‘We did see a spike in sales after the announcement, which is positive.
‘‘The reaction to the line-up has been one of the most positive we have had in recent years, which again is to be expected in these conditions.
‘‘People are just happy to hear that we are making plans to have an event.’’
At this stage, organisers are planning for the Ute Muster to go ahead on October 2 and 3.
However, Mrs Lowry said the continuation of the festival would be subject to health and government advice.
There is some speculation festivals will be allowed to resume in NSW in August, but Mrs Lowry said she could not comment on speculation.
‘‘We will continue to regularly monitor COVID-19, be guided by and act on advice given by the Australian Government,’’ she said.
‘‘A final decision about whether or not we feel it is safe to continue with the 2020 Deni Ute Muster will be made on July 31, unless government regulations take this decision out of our hands before this date.’’
Mrs Lowry said contingency plans for a potential cancellation are consistently being reviewed.
And she said whatever does happen in regards to the 2020 Ute Muster, plans are still on track for the new Ute Muster Museum to be opened in October. It will display more than 20 years of Deni Ute Muster history.
Construction started in April and works also include a new Ute Muster office, allowing staff to relocate to the Muster site from its premises at the corner of Poictiers and Hardinge Sts.
The building will also incorporate a commercial kitchen, meeting/function space, landscaping, car parking and solar power.
