Mathoura Public School students will have the chance to stay in their pyjamas and read books next week when the school holds a Pyjama Day.
Students are invited to wear their PJs on Friday, but if they prefer, casual dress will be acceptable.
It should be a fun event so let’s hope the sun shines to make it most enjoyable.

Do you remember which night to put your bins out?
Of course you do, we have it down pat now after so many years. Thursdays are our nights for rolling down the drive with a bin in each hand.
And a great night it has been. If you don’t remember to put them out before you go to the club, you get a reminder when you come past the neighbours’ bins on the way home.
Well, we may have to rethink that activity in the future following a change of service provider.
It seems council and the provider are in talks about possible changes to collection days, but we will have to wait for an advert in the PT to learn whether we have to change our ways.

The first round of Mathoura Golf Club’s Singles Knockout was played on Sunday.
Success on the day went to Brian Winter who defeated John Hulm 3 and 2.
A stroke round played in conjunction with that event was won by Adam Cowley ahead of Brian Winter.
The second round of the knockout will be played this Sunday with hit-off at noon. All members welcome.

Are you a ‘Happy Snapper’?
Well, the Speed Shear group is in the throes of organising its annual photographic competition.
Aimed at promoting all the great sites and scenes that make Mathoura such a great place, it will be held (God willing) in conjunction with the shearing contest on the Melbourne Cup weekend.
So keep the contest in mind when you are out and about and can capture people and places as possible entries for the event.
