There were still some very good crossbred and Merino lambs off grain, before quality faded into mixed and clean-up lots.
Being a fortnightly market the sale did show some big price corrections as rates fell to the lower levels seen across the industry in the past 10 days.
Just a small core of buyers operated, and demand was selective.
One line of fed crossbred lambs topped at $210, and was the only lamb sale over $200/head.
Most of the better presented medium and heavy trade lambs sold from $178 to $195/head, to trend between an estimated 700c and 745c/kg carcase weight (cwt).
Plainer lambs and smaller lots often sold below 700c/kg cwt.
Quality Merino lambs sold to $188 and the better runs with good finish were working from 680c to 700c/kg cwt to hold their value better, compared to some of the crossbred stock.
There was only a token yarding of sheep, but the few good lines of shorn Merino ewes did sell at much cheaper levels.
