The program aims to acknowledge outstanding small businesses and commend high standards of excellence and customer service.
‘‘The Australian Small Business Champion Awards is a way to recognise the efforts of small business people whose efforts contribute to the prosperity and vitality of communities across Australia,’’ awards founder and Precedent Productions managing director Steve Loe said.
Noonans Showcase Jewellers owner Cath Noonan attended the awards, along with her daughter Lily and long time employee Theresa.
She proudly accepted the award statuette, certificate and gained national recognition as an industry leader.
She said for the team’s ‘‘passion, dedication, commitment and hard work’’ to be celebrated amongst their peers was an ‘‘experience we will never forget’’.
Noonans Showcase Jewellers celebrates 50 years in business this June.
‘‘It is an honour and huge achievement to be named amongst the finest jewellers in Australia, and I was overwhelmed with gratitude when Noonans was announced the winner,’’ Cath said.
In her acceptance speech Cath thanked her ‘‘incredible staff , her loyal clientele and the wonderful community who have supported the business throughout the years’’.
She dedicated the award to her late father-in-law, Trevor Noonan OAM, who sadly passed away last year.
Trevor, along with his wife Erryl, started the business back in 1972.
The business was passed on to their son Andrew and Cath, who attribute their success to their ‘‘continued high standard of customer service, their individuality and willingness to change with the times by keeping their store up-to-date and fashion forward’’.
