State Member for Northern Victoria Mark Gepp is calling for local emerging and early career artists, auspice bodies and organisations including arts, non-arts, community and local government to apply for up to $60,000 through Creative Victoria’s VicArts Grants program.
“I encourage artists across Northern Victoria to apply for the latest round of VicArts grants and bring their projects to life,” Mr Gepp said.
“These grants will provide crucial support to Victoria’s independent artists, the driving force of our creative industries — as well as boost tourism, jobs and community resilience.”
The VicArts Grants program aims to support:
● a broad range of independent artists and arts organisations
● projects and programs by emerging and early career creatives
● projects and programs in regional Victoria
● projects and programs that reflect the diversity of First Peoples’ arts and cultural practices
● projects and programs that reflect diverse communities in Victoria, and
● increasing the availability and accessibility of the arts to the Victorian public.
The grants will support artists in regional and metropolitan areas across the state, and span a variety of different artforms, including sculpture, literature, dance, media, performance, digital and virtual reality and children’s theatre. The funding will enable creatives to kickstart new ideas, further develop projects or build their skills and creative practice.
The creative industries are an evolving mix of sectors spanning arts, culture, screen, design, publishing and advertising and encompassing activities that are commercially driven and community-based, educational, experimental and export ready — and everything in between.
Applications close August 20.
