With daylight savings upon us it will start getting busier on the golf course.

As the weather improves it presents a wonderful opportunity for members and visitors to enjoy a social round of golf on one of the Murray region’s best courses.
There will also be plenty of events organised for the avid golfer, kicking off with the Seniors Week of Golf, starting next Monday, October 7.
More than 100 players have registered, but there are limited spots still available, with events on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, plus the option to play in the Wednesday members’ competition.
On Sunday, October 13 is the Picker’s Cup, and Monday October 14 is mixed vets.
The next charity day is supporting Multiple Sclerosis, and this is on Sunday, October 20.
Also coming up is the Volskwagen Scramble, with the ladies event on Sunday, October 27 and the men’s on November 3.
Tomorrow is the Deni Car Care monthly medal.
Last Saturday we had a stableford event which had a shotgun start to ensure everyone was finished in time for the AFL grand final (not sure why we bothered!).
A grade winner was John Penna with 37 points, on countback from Kerran Leetham; B grade winner Ken Wemyss with 39 from Jen Choice on 35, and C grade Jim Hetherington with 37 on countback from Nick Metcalfe.
Sunday was the successful Navorina Charity Day, which raised more than $2500 for our local nursing home.
Winners of the four person ambrose event were Peter Seely, Vicki Robinson, Geoff ‘Zorro’ Bessell and Gary Davies, and runners-up were Graeme Willoughby, John Penna, Ken Wemyss and Garry Baker.
On Wednesday in delightful spring conditions Peter Joice was the A grade winner with a superb four under par round to record 44 stableford points, finishing ahead of Jarod Sommerfeld on 41.
Norm Purtill carded 43 points to win B grade with Geoff Bracken runner-up on 40. C grade was claimed by Lee Pattinson, also on 43, ahead of Jamie Begg on 38.
Last Thursday’s ladies stroke event was won by Vicki Brunker with an excellent four over par round of 76, net 68, defeating Dorothy Wharton with net 69.
Don’t forget the clubhouse is closed tonight due to the Ute Muster.
Raffles, meals and happy hour will resume next Friday night.
Friday nights at the club will see an exciting change with a new menu starting on Friday, October 18. Bookings are recommended.
