Brown’s Goulburn Under 15s side faced off against Henderson in the decider, with the latter recording a one goal win to secure the title.
Goulburn managed to sneak into the top four after 13 wins and four losses during the round-robin, held over the weekend on Saturday and Sunday, edging out fifth placed North East on 12 wins, four losses and a draw.
They made the most of their opportunity, overcoming top side Jika, who they previously defeated during the round-robin, 12 to 10 to book their spot in the grand final.
Similarly to Goulburn, Henderson finished their round-robin with 13 wins, defeating second placed Elmer 12 to 10 to earn their way into the decider.
Henderson also were the victors in the round-robin clash against Goulburn, winning 18 to 13.
The Netball Victoria State titles also saw former Deni Rams teammates Ella Harvey and Eloise Ritchie competing in the Under 17s competition.
Harvey’s North Central Under 17s side just missed out on a spot in the finals, finishing fifth on the ladder after the round-robin.
North Central had a promising start to their campaign, scoring wins in their first three games before a loss to eventual runner-up Two Bays.
After two more wins, Harvey’s side again suffered a loss, this time to former teammate and Deni’s own Eloise Ritchie.
Ritchie’s Central Highlands side managed to overcome North Central by three goals.
After another loss to Elmer, North Central finished the day with a win over Wimmera Mallee to finish day one in fifth spot.
Harvey and her teammates started day two on a high with two wins.
However a loss in game three to North East proved to be a crucial game to the make-up of the top four.
While North Central went undefeated for the rest of the day, with four wins and a draw, it wasn’t enough to keep North East from taking fourth position.
Ritchie’s Central Highlands team finished eighth overall with eight wins, eight losses and a draw over the two-day carnival.
Deniliquin also had another representative on the day with Kate Westcott serving as an umpire for the North Central Zone.
