Despite the loss, the Diamonds remain second on the ladder.
Several croquet players took part in cutting up salads for the Deniliquin Lawn Tennis Club’s souvlaki stand at the Ute Muster. Two welcome volunteers, Gill Smith and Lucy Cleary, also helped.
Twelve players lined up for croquet on Sunday afternoon.
Five players pulled out after two games, which saw no three game winners.
Andy Davis won the day with two wins and 25 hoops, while Colin Campbell and Helen Moye also score well with 21.
During the week Mary and John James have represented the club at a four day singles and doubles tournament at Quarry Hill.
This weekend Andy Davis and John James will compete in the Rich River open singles on Saturday. Mary James will compete on Sunday and Peter Whittakers will play on Monday.
Next week Mary and John James will travel to Horsham to take part in another tournament.
Wednesday morning saw 12 players play croquet which again saw no three game winners.
Peter Whittakers won the day with 24 hoops from his two wins, with others to score well being John Tainsh 22 and Brad Fawns and Brian Dudley, each with 21.
John Tainsh had two successful jump shots, with Dot Murphy also having one jump shot of her own.
The list for the Christmas luncheon and presentation to be held at The Timbercutter is on the noticeboard.
The club will provide a bus with all players and partners welcome to attend the event on Sunday, December 15.
