In the third round of the competition, Mitre 10 defeated Eagles 15 sets to 12 despite going down in the games count 125 to 129.
The Eagles men’s doubles gave their team the early six set to four lead.
A dominant performance from Mitre 10’s ladies saw momentum swing into their favour, taking out five of the six sets on offer to hand their side a nine set to seven overall lead.
It came down to the mixed and spin, where Mitre 10 held strong to win six sets to five to record the overall win.
Three set winners on the night were Rich Larcombe and Colin McCrabb from Mitre 10 along with Ric Bond and Michael Williams for Eagles.
Peppin Planners returned to the winner’s list taking out a 17 to 10 set win (144 games to 125).
It was a tight battle in the men’s doubles with the teams level at five sets apiece.
There was no splitting the two sides following the ladies sets either, with Peppin and Agspares both winning three sets each to be level at eight-all heading into mixed and spin.
Peppin appeared to save their best for last however, cruising to a comfortable victory by taking out nine of the 11 sets on offer in the mixed and spin.
Peppin’s win was reflected in the list of three set winners with Andrew Ritchie, Aldo Armytage, Charlie Paton, Pam Wells and Peata Smith unbeaten on the day.
Agspares also had two three set winners, with Bill Dudley and Chris Champness both standing tall.
Agspares will face off against Eagles and Peppin will take on Mitre 10 in tomorrow night’s round four match up.
