At a meeting on Wednesday night, the committee decided to hold a shortened Auskick season starting Sunday, July 19 at Hardinge St Oval.
Committee member Dimity Strongman said the decision to push on with the 2020 season was unanimous.
‘‘It was an overwhelming response that everyone wants to run the program,’’ she said.
‘‘We still have some things to work out though.
‘‘We have to worked with Edward River Council to get approval to run Auskick.’’
This year’s Auskick, if it does go ahead, will see some changes with Coronavirus protocols to be in place.
It will also make a move from a Friday night to a Sunday, with a start time yet to be determined.
‘‘We’re waiting to hear back from the Deni Rams on what time we will be able to run Auskick but at this stage it is likely to be at 12.15pm,’’ Strongman said.
‘‘We’re also hoping to get some of the local Deni Rams and Deni Rovers players down there to help run training for the young footballers.
‘‘We held an online poll to find out how many parents were interested in having their kids participate in Auskick and we had 32 responders that want it to go ahead.
‘‘That means there will be at least 40 participants, we can easily run Auskick with those numbers.’’
