TA Maher bounce back

TA Maher bounced back from a low-scoring first week to finish on top in round two of the Deniliquin Lawn Tennis Club Saturday competition on the weekend.

The team managed to put together a consistent performance to take out 14 sets and 99 games.

Four players from TA Maher managed to win three of their four sets with Michael Williams, Jack Shand, Rich Larcombe and Rowena Jackson only dropping one set each.

Peppin Planners backed up their impressive performance from round one with 12 sets and 96 games.

Sam Crozier led the way for Peppin to finish as the only four-set winner on the day.

Taskers Battlers also did well with 11 sets and 83 games, while Elders (seven sets and 77 games) and Legal Eagles (six sets and 73 games) brought up the rear.

Other players who won three of their four sets included John Sibree (Peppin), Andrew Ritchie (Taskers Battlers) and Michael Pisasale (Legal Eagles).

Round three will be played this Saturday, September 19.
