Coach Matt Dudley said to the boys’ credit, they played out the game undermanned but stood strong all day.
Max Caruso was best on, playing out of the midfield.
Riley Webb, Angus Knox and Will Dudley also received awards playing hard at the ball all day.
Will Doolan played tight in the backline getting an award as well.
Jarrod Hislop stepped up out of the fourth and also received an award.
“A massive thank you to fourths coach Tim Brown and the parents who allowed the fourths boys to play up a grade, so we could have a game,” Dudley said.
“You all played amazing.”
After a really solid training session Thursday night, the fourths were keen and ready to head to Katunga.
“With a few players away we knew it was going to be a hard fought out game,” Brown said.
“It was one of those games that really got the heart pumping with Katunga leading all the way through until the last quarter.
“To the young Redeyes’ credit they all rallied together and piled on a couple of goals in the last quarter to come away with a very special win.
“I was so proud of the way these young Redeyes played as a team.”
Better players for the day were Xander Strong, storming out of the back line and played an absolutely amazing game.
Cobi Johnson played another great game. This kid has got an enormous tank and can just run all day.
Jezza Doolan showed plenty of heart and class, winning a lot of contested footy.
Gus Lawson stood up tall when we really needed him and played another brilliant game.
