The first quarter saw a see-sawing affair with both sides kicking two majors in a term that was tough, hard and hotly contested.
Kane Hawkins and Bohdi Beasley rebounded from defensive 50 using their silky skills to give the Demons clean use through the midfield.
The second quarter saw Strathmerton exert its dominance on the game as it so often has in the past 10 years.
It was the quarter that cost the Demons the four points, with Strathmerton kicking five goals to Jerilderie’s two.
In the third quarter, Strathmerton extended its lead to 30 points, however Mitch Conlan continued his forward line dominance, kicking two goals, while Oliver Knight kicked his own major to cap off a great game for the young Demon.
Jerilderie could not peg back the margin, even though it won the final quarter of the game.
Jye Holcombe and Lachie Leeds maintained their strong form, finding plenty of footy through the middle of the ground.

The Jerilderie under-17s had a tough game playing top-two side Strathmerton.
The Demons started off slow but played better and better throughout the game.
They never gave up, which was a good sign of their tenacity, led by Tyler Hall, who had a good game in the ruck for the first time. Evan Lawton had a run in the midfield, showing his poise and class.
Jackson Pitt, who also played in the under-14s, was able to kick Jerilderie’s only goal for the game and was unlucky not to get a second.

The young under-14 Demons fought hard all game against Strathmerton but just couldn’t get a score on the board.
Almost every Jerilderie player was in the back half applying pressure and trying to stop Strathmerton’s attack.
It was very pleasing that they fought hard until the final siren.
